2024 Friends of the Arts

Partner with Watauga Arts Council to foster a thriving, diverse, vibrant, creative community through arts advocacy, education, support, and inspiration. 

Serving professional and emerging artists, WAC facilitates and provides a structure for arts initiatives that enrich the lives of artists, residents, and visitors alike.

Your support empowers WAC to....

• Improve access to arts education for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities. 
• Improve access and quality of arts programming and events in the High Country. 
• Continue to provide resources for artists and identify gaps in services.
• Advocate to make the High Country more hospitable to artists and the arts. 
• Inspire creativity and engagement with arts or all mediums and expressions.
• Advocate for public arts in Downtown Boone, on the Greenway trails, and beyond. 
• Continue our grant management opportunities for local arts nonprofits. 
• Provide space and resources for community groups to build friendships and strengthen their knowledge of the arts. 
• Work with community leaders to ensure the arts are considered in state, county, and town planning. 
• Support and nurture collaboration and partnerships between arts nonprofits for more robust and enriched experiences for residents and visitors alike.
