Journey500
When a child enters foster care, the world they knew can disappear overnight. A knock at the door, a bag packed in minutes, and suddenly everything familiar is gone. Too many of these children are handed a trash bag and told to put their lives inside it. Their clothes. Their school memories. Their childhood. All in a bag that was never meant to hold a story.
Journey Totes exists to change that.
Every suitcase we give is a small act of dignity that speaks louder than any statistic. It tells a child, You are worthy. You are valued. You deserve better. And you are not walking this road alone.
Inside each suitcase or baby bag is more than toothpaste and pajamas. We fill them with love, encouragement, and age-appropriate essentials that remind each child that their journey matters. A soft blanket for comfort. School supplies that keep their education steady. Hygiene items that help them feel human again. And a handwritten note that tells them someone is thinking of them, praying for them, and believing in their future.
In 2025, we placed more than 100 of these suitcases into the hands of children who needed hope the most. And the need keeps growing. That is why our goal is to reach 500 foster children with suitcases, baby bags, or essential resources. Five hundred moments of dignity restored. Five hundred children will be reminded that their lives are not disposable. Five hundred hearts strengthened at a time when everything feels uncertain.
A Journey Tote cannot erase the hurt. But it can soften the moment. It can interrupt the shame of carrying your whole life in a garbage bag. It can give a frightened child a sense of ownership, stability, and pride.
It is simple. It is practical. It is powerful.
And with your support, it becomes possible.
Every suitcase is a seed of hope. Every donation is a hand extended. Every child we serve gets one more reminder that they belong in this world and that their story is still being written.
Join us in reaching 500 children on their journey because no child should carry their life in a trash bag. Not on our watch. Not in our community. Not ever.
