My story with API Giving Circle:
I chose to volunteer for the API Giving Project through Y Core because I have a long-term desire to connect more deeply with the API community and to bring the voices of community members into organizational decision-making through qualitative research. As a biracial individual with a Chinese immigrant father, I have often felt a sense of disconnection from the API community and have struggled to understand my intersectional identity. Losing my father at a young age further intensified this desire to connect with my roots. I believe that through this project, volunteering with this incredible organization has made me feel closer to the API community and is helping me find my place within it. The API Giving Project (AGP) is an Asian & Pacific Islander-focused giving circle rooted in equity that amplifies impact through collective contributions. 

What is the API Giving Project (AGP)? 

 The API Giving Project is a membership-based giving circle that supports the development of strong and empowered Asian & Pacific Islander communities in the Bay Area.

What is a Giving Circle?
A Giving Circle is a group of people with shared values who pool their money and decide together where it should go.

AGP High Level Impact to Date: 

- $40,000 given in the last ~ years

- 12 Educational Events held Annually

- 32 Active Members
