My name is Juice Quiroz, and I am 16 years old. I will be entering my junior year at R.A. Long High School in Longview, Washington, as well as my first year in the welding program at Lower Columbia College.

I plan to make metalwork my career by becoming a full-time welder and a part-time blacksmith. I have always wanted to do work that allows me to use my hands to create things, and I got into blacksmithing four years ago. I have been in love with the craft ever since. I am also a tuba player with the band at R. A. Long and the symphonic band at LCC. I also participate in the local solo and ensemble competition hosted by the Southwest Washington Music Educators Association. Over the last two years, I have advanced to the state-level solo and ensemble competition.

I am going on The Quest this year for a few reasons. One reason is that over the last few years, I have been involved with Journeymen, and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences, which I feel have contributed to my growth. I think that The Quest seems like the next step in this journey of growth. I also think that The Quest will be a greater challenge for me, and that because of the added challenge, I will grow more from it and be better prepared for adulthood. To me, The Quest is an essential experience that will help me feel more like myself and move forward in the right direction with my life.

The only slight issue with this topic is the finances, and I would appreciate any support you could provide in helping me pursue The Quest. All of your donations will be used directly to fund this journey.
