The Problem

Across Mozambique, countless citizens face exploitation and injustice simply because they don't know their legal rights. Complex legal language and limited access to information create a dangerous knowledge gap, leaving the most vulnerable populations at risk.

Some examples of these risks include:

Girls who are forced to marry under the age of 18
Women who are trapped in domestic abuse situations
Widows who have all of their possessions confiscated by greedy family members
Employees who are not paid fair wages or on time
Residents who are illegally evicted from homes or off of their land
Consumers who are sold defective products with no refund
People who are falsely accused of committing a crime

Adamo Chiambiro saw injustice firsthand as a teen when his father passed away and his family was kicked out of their house by greedy relatives. He resolved even at that young age to one day get a law degree so he could fight injustices so that others could be rescued from experiencing the same fate he and his mother and siblings endured. He is now the leader of the Juris project, and expertly puts his experience, knowledge, and passion together to bring light and hope to people who don't know how to stand up for themselves.

The Solution

Juris breaks down the walls between citizens and their legal rights, transforming complex laws into clear, actionable knowledge that empowers everyday Mozambicans. As part of a dynamic multimedia campaign, the app translates legal jargon into simple, accessible language that resonates with real-life situations. In addition to the app, we also have in-person campaigns with theatrical performances to help bring legal literacy to life – making rights and responsibilities understandable, memorable, and actionable. We also partner with local radio stations for an even wider audience base, ensuring a wide reach of this life-changing knowledge.

More than just a legal reference, Juris is catalyzing a movement of informed citizens who can stand up for their rights, support their communities, and build a more equitable Mozambique where the law works for everyone. With a better-educated population that is aware of the laws and their rights, Mozambique will see a drastic improvement in the lives of the exploited.

We were thrilled to hear the story of Maria, a woman who heard one of Adamo's presentations on the radio regarding widows' rights. Shortly thereafter, her husband passed away and she almost suffered the same fate of Adamo's family. Because she had been equipped with that knowledge she knew how to fight for her rights to her home and belongings, and she won!

The Need

We are always developing creative new ways of helping people fight injustices and stand up for their rights. We want to see thousands more people living in God's Shalom wholeness as we bring God's practical Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Because we are trying to help the most vulnerable of populations, this ministry must be funded externally. We have so many dreams and possibilities for 2025, please join us in bringing light into some very dark places!

We have been blessed by a partnership with Mercy Air, who have taken our team to many remote communities that are hard to access by road.
