This 7-part staff training, adapted from the Elevatus curriculum, is designed to build staff confidence and skills in addressing sexuality with people with developmental disabilities. Too often, staff feel unprepared to respond to questions, behaviors, or situations related to sexuality.

This training provides the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to approach these conversations openly, respectfully, and effectively.

Participants will learn how to support individuals in becoming sexual self-advocates, while also understanding their own values and attitudes that may influence how they approach these topics.

The training emphasizes creating safe environments, strengthening communication with parents and guardians, and reducing barriers that often prevent open discussions about sexuality.

By the end of the series, staff will be equipped to talk one-on-one with individuals, mentor colleagues, and promote the sexual health and well-being of those they serve.
