Jonathan McBride is a name unknown throughout most of the United States, but a very important name in Uganda.

Jonathan is a missionary from Richmond, Kentucky that received the call to the missions at the young age of 21. He has been in Uganda now for the past 7 years and has brought Jesus to thousands upon thousands, starting an orphanage in Zambia, a medical clinic in Kampala, Uganda, and most recently built a church in a suburb of Kampala. The church is the biggest, tallest, and most advanced building in the area.

He has been responsible for the saving of countless souls as the Lord moves throughout the land. It can be said that Jonathan is a modern day Paul because of his relentless pursuit of Jesus and bringing the Gospel to the world-in spite of poverty, affliction, jail and persecution.

Uganda is a very impoverished and, at times, a hostile and unforgiving environment. Without access to food, medical care, or many times sanitation, Uganda is a breeding ground for hostility and crime.

Not everyone is called to the missions field, but every Christian is certainly charged to spread the Gospel.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" Matthew 28:19

We don't have to be present in Uganda to see the Gospel be spread. We can help by just sending him resources and encouragement. Jesus said:

“Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

Matthew 10:40-42
