Story

The Rhema Word Foundation is a registered 501c3 nonprofit in the Lexington Kentucky area committed to abuse prevention against women, seniors, and the negligence of children throughout our community. The Rhema Word Foundations provides an array of services to the community, such as food to individuals and families facing food insecurities, hygiene products, individual and group counseling sessions, housing, and financial assistance referrals. As well as financial literacy courses, after-school tutoring, college, and financial aid application assistance. Amongst a host of community resources, we are also passionate about educating the community on the distinct types of abuse (physical, sexual, verbal/emotional, mental/psychological, financial/economic, cultural / identity), while raising awareness of treatment and counseling services and support groups readily available to survivors in the Commonwealth. The Rhema Word Foundation serves women and children, who are affected by abuse, domestic violence, and economic disadvantages, which is why we are currently in the process of developing a new rescue house called the Rhemy's Refuge Crisis Center. The center will act as an emergency housing and traditional home for women and children who are survivors of abuse. Our vision is to build a better tomorrow by reshaping the way survivors view themselves in society. The crisis center will host life skills training, have a media, and resource center, a communal area, and a tranquility garden, as well as a success chest. Our transitional housing would ensure survivors would have a safe, healthy environment to heal and be restored.
