We are thrilled to invite you to our pre-festival fundraiser and concert on Friday, July 26th at Trans-Pecos, supporting the upcoming Pan-Afro Wisdom Fest (P.O.W. Fest) on Sunday, September 8th. 🌟

Our journey began with monthly musical jams and workshops and has blossomed into the extraordinary Festival of Grounded Souls, a transformative event dedicated to fostering reconnection within the community, especially for black queer individuals. The recap video from last year's festival highlights the laughter meditation led by the legendary Laraaji, electrifying performances by local bands, and collaborations with local businesses and vendors.🌱☀️🤸🏿

The fundraiser will feature performances by DJ ODA, Ma’at, and The Narcotix, celebrating the festival artists from our first year. This memorable evening is designed to promote our journey of raising at least $20k to ensure proper compensation for all the talented contributors investing their time to make P.O.W. Fest an exceptional event. The fundraiser will continue until we reach our goal by September.

On September 8th, P.O.W. Fest will feature a variety of exciting activities, including another laughter meditation led by Laraaji, performances by artists like Selam, Muva of Earth, Donna Lopez, Madame Vacile, and Batalá New York, and engaging workshops such as capoeira and a plant walk. Attendees can also look forward to childhood games, a drawing nook, and a raffle. Attendees will enjoy goodie bags filled with stickers and candy, and have the chance to win raffle prizes like a wellness basket, including tea, incense, a journal, and DTC merch, and other soon to be confirmed prizes centering rest and self-care.

This unique festival serves as a transformative space for inner-child healing and interpersonal connections centering black and brown queer people, and embracing the rich tapestry of cultures within the African diaspora.🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈✨❤️🖤💚
