The Billy Moon Foundation

As a 501(c)3 charity, the heart of the Billy Moon Foundation is to provide support, advocacy and awareness for organ donation. Our foundation was created in memory of Firefighter William "Billy" Moon, II. Billy, 47, was a friend and mentor to everyone. He was a lifelong dreamer who aspired to be in the FDNY, and did not stop until he did. He spent 21 years in the FDNY, and was also a 28 year veteran and ex-Chief of the Islip Volunteer Fire Department. Known for his big personality, huge smile, and passion for the job, Billy was also a devoted husband and father of two.

After suffering a fatal fall on December 12, 2022, Billy answered his last alarm on December 20, 2022 with the final gift of organ donation. Billy saved the lives of five others, including two retired members of the FDNY.We hope you will join us on our mission with your support!
