ESSENTIAL PRINCIPLES
…More than participating in a competition we all need to be connectedto our community. We were created to live in communities and to care for each other; we all need solid relationships. More than participating in athletic competitions, and challenging ourselves to improve and condition our bodies, we all need and like to know that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.

Sonrise Boxing T.E.A.M will work to create a value proposition in boxing and training, making each one understand that the cores valueswe have will not depend on our ability to win competitions. We want to teach and learn, that our identity is not limited to the victories we may have, but to the purpose of our existence. It is not just a core value based on performances or achievements in boxing or sports; it goes beyond that. We want to establish in each of us the sense of purpose, of meaning. We want to give all a solid foundation for something thatendures forever! Our goal is to work to strengthen one of the main values of sport: the team spirit, the unity in overcoming challenges and even the impossible. With this focus, we want to teach our generation to overcome individualism, selfishness and indifference to the pain of others; evils that lead to the waste and exploitation of the poorest and weakest.

For this, we also want to involve elite current athletes/boxers and former high-performance professional and amateur athletes. We want to challenge them to leave for this generation a legacy that does not disappear or is eroded by time, like medals or trophies: a legacy that remains beyond ephemeral glories; a legacy capable of permanentlychanging lives. These champion athletes in their categories and based on their past, will share their experiences, will teach the young abouthow a united team is able to inspire each person to greatness!

SUPPORTING PROGRAMS
…We will work with a basic program that we call: Conditioning and Boxing.
These are training and sparring sessions for youth, both boys and girls, men and women, with the aim of teaching and practicing boxing. As part of this program we will have daily conversations on the teaching of Christian principles in sports: respect, solidarity, discipline, truth, work, humility, love, education, ethical behavior. We will also support and participate in local, regional and national boxing competitions where some of our serious boxers of all ages can develop and test themselves against all opponents.

More than being part of the crowd, you can get into the ring with Sonrise Boxing T.E.A.M in favor of life! You can help transform the history of at-risk youth, to win the biggest competition of their lives: the struggle for survival. In 1924, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, created the motto that has been the Olympic slogan: Citius, Altius, Fortius; Faster, Higher, Stronger. The battles that are fought in the rings, on the pitches, fields, athletic tracks and indoor courts are no different from the struggle that millions of youths across the world are fighting for: their lives, their well-being.
