Help us build a 'Warm Line' in Korean Korean-American community to prevent the Mental Health Crisis

Hi I'm PACSSU, who's been part of this non-profit organization called CCI in Metro Atlanta, Georgia, since its inception in 2012. Together with a group of friends, we've dedicated ourselves to a mission: helping and empowering youth in need to become healthy, self-sufficient adults.

🚀 We're gearing up for something important next year, and we want you to be a part of it!

ℹ️ In 2024, we're launching a community support training program specifically tailored to Korean-American Young Adults in Metro Atlanta, a city with the 7th largest Korean population in the US. We're tackling the unique challenges faced by those growing up in immigrant families and addressing the critical issue of mental health crises within this community.

🔍 "Why is this our priority?" you might ask. In the midst of the pandemic, we've been observing a growing issue that has been affecting the lives of many young adults. It's a problem that we couldn't simply ignore, as it deeply impacts their well-being and future prospects.

💔 The catalyst that pushed us to prioritize this critical matter was a devastating incident – the loss of a young adult due to severe depression. This heartbreaking loss shook us to our core, reminding us of the urgency of the situation. We realized that we couldn't stand idly by any longer; we had to take action.

📆 To kick things off, we've partnered with the University of Georgia and the Korean American Social Work Educators Association to organize a forum in October. This event will serve as a catalyst for change and set the stage for the community training programs we'll be rolling out in January 2024.

Your donation can change lives! Your donation will directly fund resources and materials for us to develop and implement a community training program where peers and parents are trained to acquire certificates (QPR, Korean Mental Health First-Aid) and provide support for young adults in need.

💁‍♀️ To tell you more about the community training programs - the organization aims to glean best practices from experts attending the forum, who have experience in running similar programs in other states with large Korean populations.

Then, next year, we will establish a program dedicated to recruiting and training volunteers. This program's primary objective is to certify these volunteers as a compassionate warm-line group within the community. They will serve as the initial point of contact and support for individuals exhibiting signs of vulnerability.
