Join us in a weekend experiential workshop on March 24-26, 2023 with individuals working to transform their communities, institutions, families, and selves in a quest for safer, more connected communities.

This special weekend of Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) curriculum, will include the opportunity to gather in circle, participate in community building activities, authentic conversations, fun activities, and small group problem solving.

The Alternatives to Violence Project is an association of community, school and prison-based groups offering experiential workshops in personal growth, trauma recovery, empathy, nonviolence and creative conflict management.

The Alternatives to Violence Project was originally founded in prison and developed from the lived experience of incarcerated individuals. In the past 50 years AVP has spread to over 60 countries and is in schools, refugee camps, conflict zones, gang intervention programs, drug recovery centers, and prisons and jails around the world. AVP encourages every person’s innate power to positively transform first themselves and then the world.

Please join us in this AVP community workshop! AVP workshops create opportunities for connection, trust and transformative learning through interactive experiences, self-reflection and FUN!

Workshop Timing:

Friday, March 24th: 5:30-8:30 PM
Saturday, March 25th: 9 AM-5:00 PM
Sunday, March 26th: 9 AM-5:00 PM

Out of respect for group process and maintaining trust among participants, please only register if you can commit to attending the entire weekend.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early each day so the workshop can begin promptly.

What to Know:

Please bring a sack lunch on Saturday and Sunday as we will be eating onsite together.
Wear comfortable, casual clothing and shoes that allow you to move around easily. We may also be outside, so a jacket will be helpful.
Other than a water bottle, lunch and snacks, there is no need to bring anything else.

Cost:

This workshop is covered under a King County grant, and there is no cost to participate. If you would like to make an additional donation to help further the work, you are welcome to do so.

Please Covid test within 24 hours of the workshop.
