A message from Sarah, our past 2016-2017 intern:

Hi folks, my name is Sarah Barran-Morrell and I'm delighted to share that in less than 30 days, I'll be ordained at Mercy Community Church on May 27th! 5 days after that, I'll be turning 30 on June 1st! With these huge live events, I'm really excited because I've been discerning this next step in my ministry walk for a long time. I wouldn't have made it here to this point without Mercy.

Mercy Church is a grassroots community that serves folks, housed and unhoused, on the streets of Atlanta. The bright orange and purple walls welcome all to their space for a variety of things such as worship, Bible study, prayer, meals, art and music class, and more. Mercy is so evidently and without question the Gospel. After my year of service with this beloved community, I realized that I was called to ministry. I had no idea what it would look like, but now my journey has lead me to the point of knowing, understanding, and affirming that I am called to be a pastor. I'm blessed to be connected with Mercy, the church where I saw Matthew 25 lived and breathed, and that they affirm and celebrate my gifts of ministry.

I'd love to celebrate their impact on my life, but I need your help.

If you've spoken to me within the past 8 years, you'd know my life completely changed by my experiences at Mercy. Rather than focus on any sort of gifts for my ordination or my birthday, I'd love your help in making a contribution to the ministry that has changed my life and awoke in me a much more tangible understanding of God's love, justice, and peace. The work done at Mercy is life changing and life saving stuff. I hope that some day, you can one day soon get to know them more. Even just a small donation could mean one step closer to helping pay for someone's rent, bills, transportation, meds, and more.
