Restoring the land. Protecting our progress. Helping families rebuild.

The recovery of Kaʻū is far from over.

Following the devastating storms, families and communities across Kaʻū continue to face the challenges of rebuilding their homes, restoring their surroundings, and finding stability in the aftermath. While tremendous work has already been accomplished through the efforts of local residents, volunteers, and community partners, significant needs remain.

Debris still needs to be cleared. Damaged areas need restoration. And ongoing watershed and drainage hazards threaten to undo the progress already made, putting recovered properties, community spaces, and families at risk of further damage.

Recovery means more than cleaning up after a disaster. It means helping protect what has been restored and giving families a stronger foundation to move forward.

Through the Kaʻū Land & Community Restoration initiative, we are working to support the next phase of recovery by coordinating resources, equipment, labor, and community partnerships to address remaining hazards and restoration needs. This includes appropriate excavation and debris removal, watershed-related hazard mitigation, land restoration, and essential recovery resources for affected households.

At the heart of this work are the people of Kaʻū—especially the families, caregivers, and children who need stability, safe surroundings, and access to resources as their community rebuilds.

We believe lasting recovery requires both restoring the physical environment and strengthening the people who call it home. By working alongside local residents, community leaders, volunteers, and partner organizations, we aim to help address immediate needs while supporting a safer, more resilient future for the community.

Your contribution helps make this work possible.

Donations will support eligible recovery and restoration activities, including equipment and fuel, authorized excavation and debris removal, materials, volunteer logistics, and appropriate family and community recovery support, consistent with the nonprofit's charitable purposes and any applicable donor restrictions.

Together, we can help Kaʻū move beyond emergency cleanup toward lasting recovery—protecting the progress already made, addressing ongoing risks, and helping families and children move forward with greater stability and hope.

Mahalo for standing with Kaʻū.
