Hazel was rescued from the shelter — but she’s far from okay.

This 13-week-old baby girl has already endured more pain than most dogs will in a lifetime. She was found locked in a cold winery bathroom with her sister — abandoned, broken, and silently suffering. No one came. No one cared.

When animal control opened that door, Hazel could barely stand. She hobbled on a leg that had been fractured and ignored. Her tiny body had already started to heal — crookedly, painfully — because whoever was supposed to love her didn’t even try.

Hazel was scheduled to be killed Friday afternoon because of her medical needs — with only hours’ notice. There was no time to wait for vet estimates or organize funding. Her rescue stepped up because they had to — because no one else could.
