After more than two years of mechanical work, our team successfully rebuilt one of the Cadillac engines, allowing this historic WWII M5A1 Stuart Light Tank to enter the battlefield today for the first time.

This 15.5-ton vehicle was built in November 1942, one of the first 100 M5 Stuart tanks produced at the Massey-Harris factory. Designed with twin Cadillac V8 engines, the Stuart played an important role supporting Allied troops in the Pacific where its small size made it well suited for jungle warfare.

Now this tank is part of the living history fleet at the National Museum of the Pacific War, where visitors can experience history in motion. But historic vehicles are never “finished.” Keeping a WWII tank operational requires constant maintenance, fuel, parts, restoration work, and skilled mechanical care.
