Support Kelly Vail as she battles stage 4 breast cancer.

If you're reading this you likely know my wife Kelly. She is many superlatives aside from being a loving wife, stepmom, and co-worker but I have a feeling you know her for her boundless positive energy and growth mindset, her ability to always be curious and ask questions, her neverending drive to think through and deliver solutions, and her thoughtfulness and generosity towards all with our most valuable asset: time. She is all this and more.

Almost a year ago in May, Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer. After multiple surgeries between July and the end of October, we thought the worst was finally in the rearview mirror. Then seemingly out of nowhere an emergency hospitalization in February 2022 resulted in confirmation that Kelly's diagnosis had progressed to stage 4 in her bones/spine.

While stage 4 is generally considered terminal, Kelly's doctors have relayed hope that the progression of tumors can be halted with existing treatment making her condition a chronic and lifelong diagnosis.

Since I met Kelly in 2011, I have been witness to her many accomplishments whether volunteering her time as President of the non-profit Soroptimist in support of women and girls, to starting a successful consulting business, to then returning to the corporate world with First Republic Bank while making time to complete courses thru the Stanford Executive Graduate Program and the Wharton Business Leadership Program. No matter where she goes or whatever she pursues, Kelly has an impact that is both immediate and enduring. It is one of her profound gifts to make all she pursues better than it was before and long thereafter.

Beyond work, Kelly has always taken life by the horns and taken on whatever challenge life has given. This time is no different. As her husband, I have daily insight to her indomitable spirit but, also, her anxiety about the road ahead. That said, I'd like to share with you that Kelly is as determined as I've ever seen her. In fact, more so. This is because of who she is and because of the love and support from everyone she has touched.

I'd like to humbly ask that you please consider donating to support Kelly as she begins a new journey in her treatment plan. We are looking at alternative treatment plans in addition to what is being proposed by her team of doctors here in the US. If you know Kelly, she won't leave any stone unturned and she won't ever stop short of giving her best effort. It's who she is.
