In collaboration with Khalila Riga, Empty Frames Initiative is embarking on a new venture! A documentary, focused on Khalila's story.

In this documentary we will explore themes of family, loss, separation, and restoration. Following Khalila's journey of learning about the history of trafficking in her life, the discovery of her unethical adoption, finding her biological family, and seeing the Lord overcome everything to restore her to Himself. Her story of redemption will inspire viewers with unique insight into the world around them, the stories around them, and be equipped to understand on a deeper level. This will be an insightful, unforgettable exploration of the world of human trafficking and one survivor's journey of finding hope and herself.

Khalila's story is not just one of seemingly insurmountable challenges and unfortunate circumstances, but ultimately is of redemption, forgiveness, and the goodness of God in our very broken world. We are honored to have the opportunity to share this story and uplift the message of hope she brings to those around her. Our aim is to make this story accessible to many through a film that will be carefully, intentionally created and broadly delivered.

The funds raised here will cover equipment, crew support, filming, travel for interviews, and post-marketing expenses.

Some background: While working on The Story of Foster Care, Volume 2 we met Khalila Riga, where she served as one of the co-authors for the book. The relationship has continued and led to many conversations about the intersections of needs, and it has brought about the opportunity for further partnership in the form of a documentary detailing Khalila's journey. We are honored to walk in partnership with Khalila and know her story will be life changing for many.
