Special Moments: Hear from Angela Irwin, JLCIF Founder & Executive Director, a bilateral cochlear implant recipient, and learn about how Jacob and Tessa's lives are impacted without functioning sound processors.
Insightful Talks: Author Katie Petruzziello will inspire with her keynote on inclusion and advocacy. Dr. Chad Ruffin will discuss the link between untreated hearing loss and early-onset dementia, and the importance of patient-centered care. Professor Jim Patrick will share his wisdom and the future of hearing.
Inclusive and Accessible: This virtual event will be captioned, ensuring everyone can join in the experience.
Dress to Impress: While festive holiday attire is encouraged, it's not mandatory. Your presence and enthusiasm are what truly matter!
Make a Difference: 100% of the proceeds support uninsured and underinsured cochlear implant recipients in the U.S. Help them access vital external sound processor equipment and break down financial barriers to hearing.

* Our goal is to raise enough to fund two sound processor upgrades for cochlear implant recipients that have no other options to keep their hearing stable (we currently have 7 applicants on our waitlist).

Our keynote speaker is Katie Petruzziello, author of the award-winning Mighty Mila series, a labor of love dedicated to creating inclusive books for deaf/hard of hearing children, including her two daughters. As a CPA, project manager, and advocate, she's a mom of three mighty kids and wife to Fabio. Her passion for promoting acceptance and celebrating differences shines through her work, making it a dream job with a purpose.

Dr. Chad Ruffin, MD (and cochlear implant recipient): Dr. Ruffin works as a surgeon, hearing scientist, tech innovator, and advocate. He is the first person born with severe hearing loss to become a surgeon using cochlear implants.

Professor Jim Patrick, AO--Chief Scientist, Professor Emeritus, Cochlear. Prof. Patrick is considered a world authority on cochlear implants and one of the engineers that pioneered this hearing technology, yet one of the most humble people you'll ever meet.⁠ ⁠If you would like a chance to speak directly with Jim, we have a very limited number of VIP tickets available which include the event ticket entry as well as a private Zoom session with Jim (to be scheduled on an agreeable day/time with VIP ticket holders).⁠
