ABOUT OUR PROJECT

The Shtivi family has been staying in kibbutz עין חרוד איחוד, located in the Gilboa area, north of Israel since the war began. Mother Shirley is a distant cousin of one of our organization members, and is also related to one of the young women being held hostage in Gaza.

In the kibbutz that hosts Shirley’s family - including her husband and four small children - there is a designated area for evacuees from all over the north, including Hanita, Dafna, Dan, as well as from Kfar Azza in the south. Around 100 families, just like Shirley’s, have been displaced here since the war began, and are still waiting for a date when they can return to their homes. In addition to the daily hardship of being away from home, many of these families have young children who are scared and bored, and there is little opportunity to provide entertainment or to attend special events, as they would in their own communities. Our series of family-friendly events will include:
