My granddaughter Esme is the brightest star in my life, a source of endless joy and inspiration. Her laughter is infectious, and her love is pure. When she was just 12 months old, her parents received life-altering news that has touched our family in the most profound ways: the diagnosis of a CASK gene disorder, an ultra-rare disease with no treatments and no cure.

Despite the odds stacked against her, Esme embodies a tenacity and courage that amazes me. She works so hard day in and day out to overcome the obstacles in front of her, reminding us that she is endlessly capable when given support and opportunity.

So, with hope in my heart and fueled by a grandmother's love, I am determined to give her and all her CASK friends the opportunity for a full, healthy and bountiful life by raising funds for the critical research projects supported by Project CASK.
