Knot Lucky was born out of a profound desire to help fellow veterans rediscover a sense of purpose, connection, and healing. As a combat-wounded Army Ranger, I know firsthand the challenges of transitioning back to civilian life and battling the invisible wounds of war. After struggling with PTSD, addiction, and a loss of direction, I found solace in the open ocean and the camaraderie that fishing brings.

Realizing how powerful these experiences were for my own healing, I knew I had to share them with others who had walked a similar path. Knot Lucky became more than just a fishing nonprofit; it became a mission to support veterans through offshore adventures that reconnect them with nature, each other, and themselves. Our goal is simple: to remind veterans that they are not alone, that they are valued, and that healing is possible.

One of the most powerful parts of our mission is our great white shark tagging program. We name the tagged sharks after our fallen brothers, keeping their memories alive and honoring their sacrifice. It’s a way to remind the world that their legacy continues, while also giving veterans a mission and a sense of pride. Each tagged shark represents not just a name, but a story of courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood.

By taking veterans fishing, sharing stories, and honoring our fallen brothers through great white shark tagging missions, Knot Lucky continues to build a community where veterans can find hope, purpose, and a brotherhood that never fades.
