L.A.U.N.C.H for Life was founded in 2021 to support and guide young men aged 12-16 with the tools and community resources needed to succeed as men, realize their potential, and cultivate the same in others.

Just 3 years later, we won the 2024 Community Champion Award for Organizations in Chesterfield County, nominated by a leader in the Country Juvenile Detention Center for our impact.

Each August, we welcome 15-20 new young men and new mentors to the LAUNCH family from the Richmond area. The journey begins with our 3-day camp, laying the foundation for years to come.

Our camp is a fun, rich experience that includes:

Introducing what's ahead in the program
Beginning to cultivate peer and mentee-mentor relationships
Individual and group reflections and learning
Team projects and collaboration (and some fun competitions)
Bringing together our entire LAUNCH family for a day of fun engagement
Special guest speakers (including a former NBA player) to share life lessons
Food, snacks, and drinks to keep energy and hydration levels up
And a lot of active fun

The camp costs over $5K to execute each year including transportation of mentees to and from camp, facility rental, meals / snacks / drinks, camp and project supplies, U-Haul rental to transport supplies, camp apparel, and welcome kits.
