Why Juneteenth?

Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the historic day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day symbolizes freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for equality. Our initiative seeks to honor this legacy by taking concrete steps to address the disparities that continue to affect marginalized communities.
