Hi, I'm Zoe! This is my first year on the Lasa debate team but in the short few months since I’ve joined I've already learned so much and gained so many new skills and experiences. It has quickly become one of the most fun and unique extracurriculars I have ever done. Debate has motivated me to start keeping up with current events and research a large range of topics from ai to capitalism. Additionally the skills I need for debate such as public speaking and quick information processing directly transfer to other areas inside and outside of school. I also love getting to meet so many driven and like minded people through the Lasa debate team and tournaments I attend. Learning from some of the best debaters in the world through lasa debate is a huge privilege and the program is incredibly well-run thanks to our completely volunteer-based coaches. If you chose to donate it will go towards tournament fees, coaches, travel expenses and other important aspects that make up debate with the goal of making debate accessible for everyone regardless of money.
