Hello! I am Nathaniel Watkins, the current presiding President of the L. C. Anderson Speech and Debate team. Debate has offered me invaluable connections, opportunities and skills. It has been the backbone of my high-school career, with countless hours being spent on research, time at tournaments and inevitably, debating! Debate is so unique because it forces you to be affirmative and negative, creating the incentives to want to develop your best arguments on both sides of the aisle. This creates open-minded thinkers and the next generation of future leaders. This directly translates to future careers; lawyering, business executives and even more. I urge you to support; especially given the unique skills, argument variation and community that debate fosters. Debate has the opportunity to change lives via recruitment, business opportunities and other venues that stem just from participation in the event.
