When Jesse was 13, getting an electric trike changed everything.

Jesse has profound autism, and two-wheeled bikes were not workable for him. It was too much to balance, steer, propel, and concentrate at the same time. When he was 13, his parents, Shannon and Frank, purchased an e-trike for Jesse, and his life—and the lives of the whole family—changed that very first day. Within months Jesse could take himself to school, ride to the park, or go get ice cream on his own.

Knowing what a difference mobility can make, Shannon and Frank launched 3 Wheels from Jesse to provide teens and adults with autism access to electric trikes that support independence, confidence, and community connection.

These trikes aren’t about play—they’re about possibility. For individuals who struggle with balance, coordination, or sensory challenges, a traditional bicycle isn’t an option. But a stable, comfortable e-trike can be life-changing. 

With an e-trike, a person can:
– Get to work or school without relying on others
– Run errands and contribute to their community
– Experience movement, fresh air, and a sense of control
– Build self-sufficiency and pride

Jesse does all of these things. His trike has been a tool for growth, confidence, and everyday independence—and now, this project helps others do the same. We don’t just donate a trike and walk away; we do our best to ensure each one remains safe and useful over time.
