Arabic calligraphy is an exquisite and distinctive addition in our community. Join artist, activist, and our 2024 June IAA Alumni AiR, Kifah Abdulla (@kifahabdulla) on Sunday, August 11th for a workshop on this unique art form. Attendees will learn about the history, the rules of writing, different styles, mediums and tools. Working on a big sheet of paper, practicing writing Arabic alphabet letters, their names and any words they would like to write, attendees will have Kifah’s support in their learning. The goal of this workshop is to build bridges between cultures, gather people for a good cause, strengthen our community, and to elevate our diversity. The program is free, open to all and will take place in-person at Indigo Arts Alliance, located at 60 Cove Street, in Portland, ME.⁠ Space is limited so RSVP today.
