LLLDAM Zoo Meet Up

Each April, our community comes together to celebrate Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, and our annual Illinois Zoo Meet‑Up at Brookfield Zoo has become one of the most joyful traditions of the year. Families meet new friends, kids see others who look like them, parents find more that 'get it' and everyone gets to experience a day of connection, celebration, and belonging while having fun at the zoo!

Last year, more than 230 adults and kids with limb differences and their families joined us - a wonderful turnout in only our 2nd year (150 in 2024!)! With even more families expected this year, we’re committed to keeping this event free and accessible for every limb different child, adult, and immediate family member who registers.

Covering admission is one of the most meaningful ways we reduce barriers:

• $20 covers zoo admission for one child
• $29 covers zoo admission for one adult
• Many families attend with 3–5 people, making the total cost a real hurdle for a family that we want to help alleviate

This year, we’re also hoping to provide food for families during the event, creating an even more welcoming, low‑stress experience. Your support helps us make that possible.

• Admission for families in the limb different community
• Food and refreshments for attendees
• Event materials and accessibility needs
• A welcoming, inclusive day where families can simply show up and enjoy being together
• The continued growth of this annual LLLDAM tradition
