Please help me in supporting LOLLIPOP THEATER NETWORK, a 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 2001, dedicated to bringing in-hospital programming to children facing life-threatening illnesses nationwide. The programs that Lollipop provides help give these precious patients and their families an opportunity to experience a magical and momentary escape in the form of screenings of current films, music jams, visits by some of their favorite celebrities, and so much more. The hope is that we help bring a moment of relief into the lives of these children who need it the most.
I have been involved with Lollipop since its inception over 20 years ago - not just with fundraising, but also with in-hospital visits as well as at events. I have personally seen some heartbreaking situations while volunteering: from a child covered from head to toe in a body cast because he was the unfortunate victim of a fire, to children hooked up to all kinds of equipment to keep their heart beating, to help them breathe, to administer meds, and other unthinkable situations.
But what is incredibly heartwarming are the smiles on these patients faces when they get to walk down a red carpet in the hospital to go to a screening of a movie that their friends and family got to see in a theater, or when they get to laugh during an interactive session with their favorite celebrity, or the sense of calm that they get when they learn to draw from top animation artists. This is the exact goal of Lollipop … to create a sense of relief and escape from what they are going through - even for just an hour or two.
So … please donate today. No amount is too big or too small as every dollar adds up and helps. With your donations, Lollipop will be able to continue its programming around the country, and even expand elsewhere.
