Dyson, who will now be known as Tiny Tim, found himself at the Prince George's County Shelter and was immediately placed on a medical list for what they thought was a UTI as he was peeing blood. LOVEPAWS has good news and not-so-good news…

The good: We pulled Tiny Tim from the PG shelter last week and he got to spend Christmas in a safe, warm, loving foster home

The not-so-good: Tiny's peeing blood wasn't JUST a UTI, he has a prolapsed urethra and needs surgery ASAP. He is going in on December 29 at which point we’ll have an estimate. Our poor guy also has a URI right now, so while the surgery is urgent, when it occurs will depend on his condition.

We will share more once we know more.

12/30 UPDATE:

Tiny went in for surgery yesterday for his urethral prolapse as well as airway surgery. In total, we’re looking at a cost of about $5,700 (the quote at the end reflects only the urethra surgery).

Tiny did well through surgery and is recovering! They removed 2cm of excess soft pallet, addressed everted saccules, neutered, and fixed his urethra.
