Hi everyone, Dani Burd here. I am the director and founder of Indigo Dance Company EST. 2024. Before we dive into what we're creating, I want to thank you for the support, love, and trust you've shown us on this journey so far. It means everything to have a community that believes in the work we're doing.

INDIGO Dance Company needs your support.

Three years ago, what began as a way to process grief evolved into something much bigger-a trilogy of dance works exploring what it means to fall apart and rebuild. From this journey, INDIGO Dance Company emerged: a collective of artists, storytellers, and collaborators dedicated to creating meaningful, multidisciplinary work.

Together, we’ve shared the first two chapters: HOME and Closer to… Now, we’re ready to create HUSK, the final piece in this trilogy.

This vision needs many hands. Help us raise $14,000 and bring this season into being.

Every dollar you contribute directly supports:

The Artists – Artist payment($$$), lighting designer($$), photographers($), videographers($$), and stage manager($)

The Production – Venue rental ($$$), insurance($), costumes, props($$), and specialized lighting that will bring our vision to life($$)

The Community – Rental space for our donation-based open classes that make dance accessible to everyone

The Platform – The Indigo Film Festival, where we celebrate dance on film and lift up other independent creators

The Future – Sustaining INDIGO's mission to create space for artists to tell their stories and continue our ongoing collaborations.

INDIGO DANCE COMPANY: ONE YEAR IN

We're officially one year old. Your support transformed an idea into a vibrant platform for dance, collaboration, and creative expression.

Year One Highlights:

Premiered 1 evening-length dance work and 1 short film
Sold out live performances with film screenings in LA and Austin
Opened access for dancers to train and connect MORE through donation-based dance classes
Elevated 20+ emerging artists, giving them stage and screen opportunities
Choreographed 2 music videos, creating paid work for our dancers
Built a creative home rooted in authenticity, connection, and community

What's Next:

We're preparing our most ambitious work yet - a 44-minute live piece premiering August 23 in Los Angeles. It explores what remains after everything falls away, and what it means to keep going.

Looking Ahead:

Expand movement programming to new cities
Contribute to and teaching at retreats, festivals, and healing spaces
Continue teaching the next generation of dancers
Produce cross-disciplinary short films
Collaborate with other artists, galleries, and musicians
Continue our no-fee film festival for independent filmmakers

We are available for hire for choreography, workshops, teaching (all levels and ages), movement direction, and of course DANCE.

What We're Creating

Help Us Complete HUSK – The Final Chapter

HUSK is the culmination of a three-year journey through grief, memory, and transformation.

A homesick heart fractures time and transcends reality in this emotional recollection.

An emotional recollection, where loss fractures time and transcends reality.

Sunder. Oblivion. Grace.

Husk is a 44-minute evening length work premiering August 23rd (Matinee and evening Performances) at Stomping Ground LA in Los Angeles, CA.

This final chapter asks... What remains when everything falls away? When you're at the edge of the earth...what's left. How do we find peace at the end..with the end. How do we begin again.

And then... light. Not because it was earned or things subsided.. but because grace arrives anyway. Forgiveness without reason, beauty without logic. It's presence, humility, peace.

Seven incredible dancers will help answer these questions, bringing their own stories and truths to this collective work of art.

This work is being choreographed by Dani Burd, Rik Soto, and Madi Thomas - in collaboration with our Season 2 company artists.
