Dear Neighbor,
Thank you for being an integral part of the vibrant Perkasie community! My name is Derek Muller, and I am a proud resident of the Borough who enjoys the beautiful parks, community festivals, shopping at local businesses, and learning about Perkasie's rich history. One thing that stands out to me is the thriving arts and dance culture in the area. We live in a world where access to the arts is vital, and we feel that we can also bring the transformational power of theater to the local level. This is where Little Theater Workshop comes in, with your help.
Little Theater Workshop (LTW) was founded in 2019 by Lynn Mullin. In its initial run, LTW provided introductory acting classes for children and a virtual improv incubator for adults. The group also produced a virtual production of 10 Ways to Survive Life in Quarantine, an outdoor summer production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and an original play titled The Wildflower Chronicles. In the fall of 2022, LTW reorganized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, eager to build our village and continue to develop workshops, productions, and events to further the role of theater in Perkasie.
On behalf of LTW, I invite you to participate in our mission of providing affordable and accessible theater opportunities for all ages right here in Perkasie. We are a performing arts nonprofit run by a group of community volunteers who are passionate about the power of the performing arts to instill confidence, foster creativity, and develop empathy for each other. We are working to develop a year-round program for all ages that involves classes, workshops, and productions in the many niches of performing arts, including acting, improvisation, playwriting, stand-up comedy, sketch writing, behind-the-scenes technical work, and more.
We believe everyone deserves the right to access theater opportunities regardless of their financial situation. Whenever possible, we plan to implement a sliding scale pricing model, which takes into account an individual's ability to pay. Instead of a fixed price for a service or product, the cost varies based on the person's financial situation. This approach enables individuals with lower incomes to pay less while making services more accessible to everyone.
However, we cannot achieve this goal without the help of individuals and businesses who recognize the potential to enrich our community’s culture through the vibrancy of the performing arts. By making a monetary or in kind contribution to Little Theater Workshop, you help us to hire professional teaching artists, rent rehearsal and performance spaces, purchase supplies, and fund our operating expenses. In exchange, we offer public recognition through our communication materials and additional perks outlined in our sponsorship tiers attached to this letter.
We appreciate your support of Little Theater Workshop of Perkasie and your investment in the development of the performing arts in our community. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions by emailing [email protected] or calling us at (267) 354-0269. Additional information about our organization and mission can be found on our website at LittleTheaterPerkasie.org.
