I am fundraising for AuSM Steps for Autism 2025 in honor of my amazing son, Declan! He is 4 1/2 years old and was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) at the age of 2 1/2. He is strong, smart, sweet, sensitive, stubborn, silly and has a personality that shines every day. His smile and his laugh are contagious and he continues to teach me what really matters in life. I love his bear hugs and his tender heart and I thank God everyday that he chose me to be his mom! Since day 1 of our Autism journey, I committed myself and my life to the ongoing learning, researching, connecting, experiencing and supporting with all that Autism is and how it not only affects Declan’s daily life but also 1 in 34 Minnesotans. It’s the most important thing to me to advocate for Declan and understand what tools he needs in order to live his life to the fullest just like he deserves. Being that the month of April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance month, it’s the best time to show your support. Steps for Autism is held in the month of May and is an exciting event featuring a resource fair and interactive activities as well as the self-led walk through the park by the venue. This will be our third year attending, our second year for fundraising and our first year as official members of the Autism Society of Minnesota! As the states oldest nonprofit Autism organization, AuSM relies on the generosity of the community and it would mean a lot if you could help support Team Declan! All that is donated stays local, benefitting us Minnesota families and individuals touched by Autism. Thank you for taking the time to read a glimpse of our story, every donation and share mean so much. 💙🧩♾️
