Red River UU Minister Fund

We have started the process to find a 2-year contract minister. We are still seeking funds to cover the complete compensation package for two years. To date we have raised over $70,000 through restricted donations, diverting approved funds from savings, and projected budget savings. We have also been approved for a grant of $90,000 from NTUUC. We still want to raise an additional $30,000 to completely fund the minister compensation package for 2 years. These funds will help us reduce the amount of funding that we have to pull from our church general savings.

Red River UU is the most northern Unitarian Universalist Church in North Central Texas and the only church on the Texas - Oklahoma border. The nearest UU church to us is in Plano, 55 miles south. To the north, the closest UU church is in Norman, Oklahoma, 145 miles from Denison.

This area of Texas and Oklahoma is very conservative and we are one of only a few liberal churches in the area, especially a church that strongly supports the LGBTQ+ community. We are a sanctuary for our LGBTQ+ community and liberal-thinking people.
