Whole Unity Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in Indiana, Pennsylvania that provides free resources to minorities to addresses disparities. Our services include: health and wellness workshops, education and workforce development initiatives, racial advocacy, and highlighting Black and Brown Artistry. Whole Unity Inc. consistently creates a platform for diversity by implementing community initiatives that welcome people from all backgrounds.

Indiana, Pennsylvania is a small college town, rural community made up of 3% minority population outside from the university. Indiana has historically made decisions without considering minorities. All big decisions are made by non-diverse leadership, that doesn't include the community as a whole. Programs and initiatives are developed that cater to the needs of White people or have restrictions and control over how minorities can seek opportunities. Often barriers include: lack of representation in leadership, no progressive career paths, no safe spaces for minorities.

So What Are We Going to Do?

We are moving our virtual/mobile operation into a physical space to provide permanent support to minorities and other vulnerable populations. The time is now for longevity in our advocacy. We are creating a multi-cultural center that will house our workforce development programs, educational workshops, arts programs, and other diversity and cultural resources to the community.
We plan to expand our services. Currently, we offer workforce development training, scholarships, youth music programs, nutrition and health awareness workshops, anti-racism discussions and forums, minority artists advocacy and more. The center will allow us to have triple what we offer, because we will have permanent space.
We plan to employ at least 20-30 people to operate the center. There is a low job market in Indiana, Pa where it is hard for people to find secure employment due to discrimination, educational status, or displacment. We will have jobs ranging from entry level to senior management positions.

We want this community center to be a place of belonging where people will have access to jobs, opportunities, and freedoms. The multicultural center will bridge cultural gaps by bringing different people together on a regular basis. The center will be open at least 5 days a week for programming. We are excited to increase the local economy and bring opportunities to Indiana, PA with true diversity in mind.
