Imagine your healthy, intelligent 12-year-old child suddenly suffers a seizure. The diagnosis of Lafora Disease, a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disease affecting adolescents, shatters your hopes and dreams, as your child has less than 10 years to live and will soon lose their independence. This devastating news brings despair, but now…. .
I'm thrilled to now share incredibly exciting news that offers a glimmer of hope to these children and their families!
UT Southwestern has launched a groundbreaking clinical trial for the first-ever drug to treat Lafora Disease. The FDA has approved this study for 10 children, and the first four have already begun treatment. This is a monumental step forward, but we urgently need your help to ensure all 10 children can receive this potentially life-saving treatment.
Chelsea's Hope has worked tirelessly to raise funds for this expensive trial, and has nearly secured enough for the first SEVEN children. However, we are still more than $450,000 short of our goal to cover the remaining THREE children. The total cost for each child's participation is $150,000 per child, and we have only a few months left to raise these critical funds. We canNOT leave these children behind!
I know we are all inundated with requests for charitable donations, but this is an extraordinary opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of these children. Your donation will not simply be a drop in the bucket; it will directly fund a specific child's participation in this groundbreaking trial. How can I sit back when I know that if all my friends and colleagues contributed, we could save the lives of these children?
Please join me in making a generous (tax deductible) donation to Chelsea's Hope today. Your support could literally save a child's life.
Thank you for caring about these kids!
