Support Lenore's Pantry and Market
Lenore’s Pantry has been a cornerstone of compassion in North Attleborough for more than four decades. Named in honor of the late Lenore Paquin, the Town’s beloved Public Health Nurse, the pantry began humbly in 1978—just a small closet in the Health Department on North Washington Street. Lenore saw a growing need in her community and responded with care, dignity, and action. What started as serving 35 families has grown to supporting more than 120 households each month. Over the years, the pantry found new homes—from the Board of Health’s kitchen, where it became known as “Lenore’s Kitchen,” to Town Hall, where the name officially became Lenore’s Pantry after her retirement in 1999.
For 47 years, the pantry has been sustained entirely by the generosity of local residents, businesses, churches, and civic groups. This spirit of giving ensures that Lenore’s vision lives on. Today, Lenore’s legacy continues to grow at the pantry’s new home on Elm Street, through a partnership between the Town of North Attleborough and the Hockomock Area YMCA. The pantry will be operated by the Hockomock Area YMCA, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening community and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive and be welcome. As part of the YMCA’s Social Action Services, the pantry will offer fresh, nutritious food in a welcoming, community-based environment
Lenore dedicated 27 years of her life as a public health nurse to caring for this community—and her dedication shines brighter than ever as the pantry & market evolves to meet the needs of our neighbors with dignity, hope, and compassion. We are so proud to work alongside Lenore's daughter, Leslie, to continue her legacy.
This page supports an employee giving program that allows donors to contribute $20 per month while receiving a half day of PTO and supporting a local community resource. Your support helps reduce food insecurity and strengthen our community.
