Like most shelters across the US, the Humane Society of Blue Ridge is facing an animal crisis. Inflation, economic hardship, and national housing crisis have decreased the number of animals being spayed and neutered and increased the numbers of abandoned animals in shelters. On any given day we have between 100 - 150 animals on a waiting list to get in. Sadly, the same is true for our fellow shelters too. Take a look at the latest staggering numbers....

Georgia Department of Agriculture released these numbers earlier this year:

In Georgia, 33,109 dogs and cats were euthanized at animal control facilities in 2024, compared to 12,271 in 2020. Shelters are overflowing and thousands of helpless animals are being euthanized every day.

The Humane Society of Blue Ridge is trying to help!

We created our Let's Get Fixed program to assist Fannin County residents who need financial assistance to prevent future litters. Preventing future unwanted litters is essential in lowering the number of abandoned and neglected animals in our community and in our shelters.

What is the process?

Fannin County residents will fill out an application via online link at:

Our goal is to secure more sponsorships and increase the amount of monthly low-cost spay/neuters a month, but at this time we are limited to a specific amount each month. We will accept pets who qualify for the procedure on a first come first serve basis and based on open appointment slots for the event date. Submitting this form is not a guarantee of appointment or service. Once this form is submitted, please allow 48 -72 hours for contact.

ONCE APPROVED please pay $50 online here for a DOG. The $50 is for a dog any size, male or female.

ONCE APPROVED please pay $40 online here for a CAT The $40 is for a cat any size, male or female.

Payment will be required to secure an appointment. Cash, check and online payment options available. 🐾If you have multiple pets, please submit 1 form for each pet. 🐾Additional vaccines will be available on day of event to registered pets for a reduced fee. If you need vaccines, please request at check in.
