🐾 Help Save Brioche — A Brave Cat Fighting FIP 🐾

Friends of Nine Lives, we need your help.

Meet Brioche — she came to us on July 6, 2025, hopeful for a new start. Over the past few weeks, she’s been dealing with some serious health challenges. Around four weeks ago, Brioche developed ringworm (which we have been treating). Then, on Saturday, September 27, we noticed her abdomen became bloated — a red flag. Our veterinarian now has diagnosed her with Wet Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

While she’s still active and eating, FIP is a very serious diagnosis — but thanks to new antivirals and dedicated veterinary care, there is hope. To give Brioche her best chance, she will require:

84 days of antiviral medication (twice daily)
A strict 84-day observation period afterward to monitor for relapse
Supportive care: fluids, B12 injections, vitamins, a high-protein diet, daily/weekly weight checks, frequent blood draws for monitoring, and more

The total cost is substantial, averaging $2,000 & up for (medications, vet monitoring, supportive care, diagnostics).

We are launching a fundraiser to raise the funds needed so Brioche can receive the full course of treatment and care. Every donation — large or small — gets us one step closer to giving her a fighting chance.

We want to ensure she receives the full course without interruption
We also want to educate about FIP so people understand: this is not “contagious FIP spreading in the shelter”
