In the summer of 2014, I had just graduated from my MA program at UChicago. I was unemployed, searching for community, connection, and a way to grow both personally and professionally. I found all that—and more—at Links Hall.

When I joined the Associate Board, I stepped into a vibrant world of creatives and changemakers. I forged incredible friendships, tapped into Chicago’s thriving arts scene, and grew in ways I never imagined. Planning and co-chairing THAW fundraisers, including the unforgettable 40th-anniversary celebration, showed me just how vital this organization is—not only to artists but to the City itself.

Links Hall is an artist-centric organization. The focus isn’t on polished perfection—it’s about the craft, the process, and supporting artists as they grow in their careers. It’s a place where ideas are born and nurtured, and Chicago’s arts sector thrives because of it.

Today, Links Hall is at a critical moment. I know from my own professional experience what it means to bank on growth—investing in much-needed staff and resources to build a stronger organization. Now, they’re calling on their community to help sustain their mission and ensure they can continue uplifting artists for years to come.
