Book Discussion: The Limit of Whiteness: Iranian American and the Everyday Politics of

The book’s theme will be the framework of the questions of being white and how an

American can navigate this hegemony of whiteness that causes nightmares for many

African Americans in an inherently racist society such as the United States. We have

countless examples as indicated by the U.S.A. history, court cases, and the literature

from the white worldview. The Limit of Whiteness, which is provocative, covers a lot of

territory frequently not explored in brainwashed Nebraska educational institutions that

promote white supremacy ideology.

Yet, as the social equality pendulum swings, how does society avoid moving from being

proud of one’s racial or ethnic heritage or group without becoming the zealous mentality

of white superiority or Zionism, as if one is better than the others? The book forces us to

have but-necked conversations that many are too often afraid to talk about the power of

whiteness. We will attempt to turn the page on the issues of race and racism.
