We are facing a critical issue at our current primary school which serves 145 children from Pre-K through third grade. With the capacity to only accommodate classes up to third grade, we are unable to provide continuing education for our students. Unfortunately, not only is the nearest public school a long distance for children to walk, they require multiple fees to attend, which most families in this rural area cannot afford. This results in 70% of our third grade students not being able to continue their education on to fourth grade.

The children we reach are among the most poverty stricken in the world with 89 of them being orphans in a rural village north of Kampala. They face a dim future without your help!

For example, Nasue, one of our 2022 third graders with ambitions of becoming a nurse, was unable to continue her education because her family could not afford the required public school fees for fourth grade. To address this urgent need, donors like you have recently helped us purchase 2.6 acres of land! Now is the time to expand our school to the next level by building. Our goal in this first phase of school expansion is to raise $34,000. This will permit 100% of our children to continue their education. A three classroom brick building costs $26,500 and the necessary latrine (sanitation) facilities will cost $7,500.

LHFA is a gospel-driven organization whose effort focuses on transforming communities that have insufficient resources to sustain themselves. We built a primary school serving 145 children, purchased five acres of farmland to sustain the school and provide nutrition, funded a borehole well to provide clean water for the community, and purchased 2.6 acres to expand our overcrowded school. Children in this rural area near Zirobwe, Uganda are in desperate need of access to education that will enable them to escape the cycle of poverty. LHFA is a 501(c)(3 ) non-profit charity, making donations eligible for tax deductions.
