At Moves & Grooves, 2024 has been a year of impact, growth, and transformation, and it’s all thanks to supporters like you. Together, we’ve created opportunities for youth to thrive, building a foundation for their futures through mentorship, education, and community engagement.

This year, your support has helped us accomplish:

• Hosting 5 community events that reached over 895 youth and families, fostering connections and celebrating creativity.
• Hiring 30 high school interns for a 7-week summer program, giving them invaluable career experience and leadership development.
• Welcoming 7 new community partners, broadening our reach and resources to serve more children.
• Launching the Sponsor A Child Campaign, raising $14,000 to provide FREE mentorship for low-income students for an entire year.
• Paying off and now OWNING the land for our Youth Arts Center.

These accomplishments represent more than numbers—they reflect the real lives changed through Moves & Grooves. Behind every event, every partnership, and every dollar raised are young people discovering their potential, building confidence, and achieving dreams they once thought impossible.

LEARN AMARA'S STORY

Amara, a 12-year-old, faces immense challenges in a neighborhood with few opportunities. With her mother working three jobs, Amara takes care of her three younger siblings, cooking dinner, helping with homework, and managing the household—all while maintaining her above-average GPA.

Feeling overwhelmed by her responsibilities, everything changed when she joined Moves & Grooves, a free after-school program. It became her sanctuary—a place where she found mentorship, supportive peers, and creative outlets through arts and music. For a few hours each day, Amara could set aside her worries, express herself, and simply be a teenager.

Through Moves & Grooves, Amara gained hope and confidence, envisioning a future where she could attend college and build a better life for her family. For her, the program is more than after-school care; it’s a lifeline bridging the challenges of today with the dreams of tomorrow.
