Mutual Aid is a practice and politics that emphasizes solidarity rather than charity. This means we recognize that our well-being, health, and dignity are all bound up in each other. We understand that our survival depends on cooperation, not competition. In the face of social and political overwhelm, rather than disengage and feel powerless, Mutual Aid allows us to plug in where we can make the most impact—by giving and receiving locally. Help us redistribute wealth to our community! The more money we bring in, the more we can give out.

The Community Fund allows community members to apply for financial assistance toward groceries, rental applications, college applications and other needs.

As we (re)build the base, we ask that you consider making a recurring donation. This is an easy way for you to allocate and budget your contribution, while allowing MAH to be planful and prepared to respond to crises as they arise. Give what feels right. Here are some suggested donation tiers:

  • Tier 5: $500/month = $6,000/year (or $1,500/quarter)
  • Tier 4: $125/month= $1,500/year (or $375/quarter)
  • Tier 3: $50/month = $600/year (or $150/quarter)
  • Tier 2: $20/month = $240/year (or $60/quarter)
  • Tier 1: $8/month = $96/year (or $24/quarter)

100% of monies received will be redistributed directly into the hands of community members in need. Staff salaries, overhead, and infrastructure are paid through foundation and grant support. Please help us achieve our goal of receiving and giving $2,000-$3,000/month.
