Currently a junior in San Luis Obispo High School, Andy Shen studies piano with Mr. Alan Boehmer. As a winner of the Paderewski Youth Piano Competition, Andy has been invited to play at the winners’ concerts as part of the Paderewski Festival since 2016. In March 2020, he took first place state-wide in all age categories of California Association of Professional Music Teachers’ Contemporary Music Competition for his exceptional performance. In July 2022, he was awarded the first-place winner at the Concerto Competition held by the Philadelphia International Music Festival. Andy has performed at the Santa Maria Philharmonic Youth Showcase and was heard in chamber music works by Brahms and Dvorak on the Symphony of the Vines Youth Spotlight Series.
