Education Justice Academy: 2026 Fundraising Campaign for Cohort 7

Across California, our public schools are at a crossroads. As political divisions deepen and disinformation spreads, the very foundation of public education—free, inclusive, democratic learning for all—is under attack. School boards, once quiet spaces for collaboration, have become battlegrounds for ideological conflict. In this moment of existential crisis for public education, we need powerful local leadership more than ever.

The Education Justice Academy (EJA) was founded to meet that need: to recruit, train, and sustain a new generation of courageous local leaders who believe that schools should serve every child, regardless of zip code or background. Each year, EJA brings together educators, parents, and community advocates for a 12-week fellowship that equips them with the knowledge, policy skills, and peer community needed to govern with justice and integrity.

Our Spring 2026 campaign will support Cohort 7, a statewide class of 12 local leaders, school board members, educators, and community organizers, who will carry forward the fight for educational justice. With your support, we will expand our leadership curriculum, provide scholarships for fellows from across California, and build regional networks of solidarity to defend and strengthen public schools.

We know that transformation happens locally: in boardrooms, classrooms, and communities where decisions shape opportunity for generations.
