Student Sponsorship

MHYT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed on the premise that it IS possible to provide high quality theatre education for students while being financially sustainable and dismantling exclusionary practices.

By contributing to MHYT’s scholarship fund, your sponsorship helps us work towards our goal of reducing barriers to arts access in our community. As public school educators, we have seen the powerful role that the arts play in youth development and social-emotional wellness firsthand. In a post-pandemic world, a safe and creative outlet for students is more needed than ever before.

We recognize the operational costs associated with theatre making and organizational start-up costs: paying teachers a livable wage, technical equipment, licensing and royalties, venues, insurance...

But we also envision a future where no child is denied participation.

By sponsoring a student, you are helping make that vision a reality. Your scholarship directly provides students who would be otherwise unable to participate in classes and productions the opportunity to do so.

Our Spring/Summer goal is to find sponsors for 10 students to take a class or camp, a total of $2000:

● $400 - Provide a scholarship for a student to participate in a week of all day of summer camp.

● $200 - Provide a scholarship for one of our youngest students to attend a 6-week session of a theatre class (Tiny Troupe, ages 4-6) or any student to attend a week of half day summer camp.

● $275 - Provide a scholarship for a student (ages 7+) to attend a spring 6-week session of a theatre class.

Any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated. Additionally, if you would like to set up recurring monthly donations to support our scholarship fund over time, we would be extremely grateful for your ongoing support.
