GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

For over 27 years, the Marion Institute has worked to create positive change through it's programmatic work, such as the tremendously vital Southcoast Food Policy Council that continues to respond to the pandemic by addressing food insecurity in our region; Grow Education that supports teachers, educates students and engages families in creating healthier eating and living habits; and the BioMed Network, which works to educate and empower by supporting, connecting and applying the science of self-healing. We believe optimal health is a basic human right, not a privilege.

The MI remains dedicated to creating and leading initiatives that make our communities more resilient to the type of disruption caused by future unforeseen disturbance, such as that currently being triggered by COVID-19.
